A 13-year-old boy suffered a near-total amputation of his right thumb in a chaff cutter (kutti machine) accident. Doctors successfully performed emergency microsurgical replantation by repairing bone, arteries, nerves, and tendons, allowing the thumb to survive with good viability at discharge.
